Pecan Praline Cake Recipe Ideas

When having company over for dinner you usually want a great dessert to cap off the meal. One simple dessert that can be made well ahead of time is a Southern Pecan Praline Cake. The simple ingredients include:

- 1 butter pecan cake mix
- 3/4 cup canola oil
- 1 can coconut pecan frosting mix
- 1 cup water
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup chopped pecan pieces

Pre-heat the oven to 350°. Combine all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl (including the frosting) and mix well. Spray a Bundt pan with a non-stick spray. Pour mixture into the Bundt pan and bake for 50 minutes. The cake should be lightly browned. Cool for approximately ten minutes and then reverse onto the cake plate. Let it cool and you've got a rich, moist cake ready to serve.

You can optionally add English toffee bits to give the cake a bit of a crunch and enhance the flavor. Or, to give it a decorative look, you can create a crown of pecans by placing pecan halves in the form of a ring at the bottom of the bundt cake pan prior to pouring in the cake mixture. Never forget that presentation matters so feel free to sprinkle on some powdered sugar.
